Sod Installation — Westside Jacksonville
The Westside has some of the heaviest soil in the Jacksonville metro. More clay content than you will find on the Southside or at the beaches, which means different prep requirements. Clay holds water — good for established lawns, bad for new sod if the grading is not right. Puddles kill new sod faster than drought.
We serve the entire Westside including Argyle Forest, Oakleaf Plantation, Whitehouse, Normandy, Lake Shore, Cedar Hills, the Cecil Commerce Center area, and everything along Blanding Boulevard and 103rd Street.
The newer subdivisions in Oakleaf and Argyle often have builder-grade lawns that were installed thin and cheap. Within two to three years the weeds take over and the original sod thins out. A full replacement with properly prepped soil gives you a lawn that actually lasts.
For Westside clay soil, proper tilling and grading is even more important than usual. We break up the clay, mix in amendments for drainage, and grade to prevent standing water. The extra prep up front saves you from a failed lawn later.
